Career Timeline: 1985 - Little Nemo in Slumberland
Moebius is approached by Tokyo Movie Shinsha to do concept design work and script revisions for their animated feature film based on Winsor McCay’s comic strip Little Nemo in Slumberland.
P.S. Hayao Miyazaki was heavily involved in production early on, even making a test film, but left citing difficulties years before Moebius came on board.

Lemuria, kickstarting an animation career.
yeaaaaahhh! Lemuria may very well be a TV show someday, which I’m super excited about. Miranda and I will be working together, with our own little studio being the creative producers of our own project. It’s really a dream come true…
One thing im not so super excited about is actually DEALING with the industry, and the people in it. I find it really draining going to meetings and everytime trying to figure out if people are legit, or just screwing you over. I wish that when you met producers or employers they could have something like a name tag tapped to them saying something like “Hello my name is (blank) and I’m a genuine person who won’t take advantage of you because you’re fresh out of school”. Or “Hello my name is (blank) and Im a complete douche bag who only thinks about himself and wants to hire you for slave labor”. It’s just a lot of stress, and I tend to trust everyone I meet… so it’s super tough..
On a lighter note, Lemuria is funded! I couldn’t be happier about that. I think Miranda and I will make a great team! I’m thrilled that people can get excited over my attempt at making a cool story. When I was making the storyboard I never really thought “oh hey someday an Australian man is totally going to love this and want to make a TV show, plus add in some googly eyed black goldfish” ahahah writing that now im still like What the hell is going on.Anyways! shamelessly plugging this animation, because we are totally going to make this the best animated short film EVER!

I’m super excited for this project and I hope this guy doesnt turn out to be a tool. But I don’t have a bad feeling about him past normal paranoia so i think it will be okay <3
